LG Electronics has announced its highest second-quarter financial results to date, thanks to increased demand across several sectors, including home appliances, vehicle components, and HVAC systems. The company reported a preliminary operating profit of 1.58 trillion won, equivalent to $1.04 billion, marking a significant 146.9% rise compared to the previous year. Revenue also saw an impressive increase, climbing 14.9% to reach 23.83 trillion won, exceeding market forecasts.
During the first half of the year, LG achieved record-breaking figures, with revenue totaling 47.56 trillion won and an operating profit of 3.25 trillion won. These results were bolstered by heightened sales in key business areas, improved cost efficiency, and the expansion of subscription services. Additionally, the growth of the webOS platform and enhanced online sales contributed to the company’s outstanding performance.
Significant growth was observed in the home appliance, vehicle solutions, and HVAC divisions, which served as major drivers of the company’s success. The demand for premium home appliances and automotive infotainment systems soared, particularly in Europe, where recent heatwaves fueled the need for cooling solutions. These factors played a crucial role in LG’s financial achievements this quarter.
